The incident unfolded on February 19, 2026, at the Sapru Ground in Shuklaganj, Unnao district, where an under-13 cricket match was being played under the Kanpur District Cricket Management Association (KDMA) league.
As players and officials paused for a drinks break, a large cluster of bees descended onto the field without warning.
Witnesses described how the swarm appeared seemingly out of nowhere, creating panic among everyone present.

Veteran Umpire Manik Gupta Succumbs to Injuries
